🚀 Feature Request: Multi-Ayah Selection for Copy & Share + Customisable Sharing Options

Problem

Currently, the app allows multiple ayah selection during audio playback, which is very useful. However, copying and sharing verses is limited to a single ayah.

In many real-world use cases, Qur’anic verses are understood and shared in context, not in isolation. Restricting copy and share to one ayah makes it harder to share meaningful passages or use the content for reflection, teaching, study circles, and reminders.

Additionally, the copy and share output is fixed. Users do not always want hashtags, translator names, or extra metadata included every time.

Proposed solution

Enable multi-ayah selection for copy and share, using the same mechanism that already exists for audio playback. This should apply to copy, share, and save/notes (if applicable).

This would allow users to:

  • Share passages covering multiple ayahs that form one complete message

  • Copy full thematic sections for study, khutbah or lecture preparation, personal reflection, or teaching material

Also add customisable copy and share settings so users can control what is included in the output.

Options could include:

  • Arabic ayah text

  • Translation

  • Tafseer

  • Ayah numbers

  • Translator name (optional)

  • Tafseer source (optional)

  • Hashtags (optional)

  • App branding or attribution (optional)

Users may want different combinations, such as:

  • Arabic only

  • Arabic and translation

  • Arabic, translation, and tafseer

  • Minimal (no metadata)

  • Full output for educational sharing

These settings could be remembered as user preferences or selected each time before sharing.

Why this matters

Qur’anic verses often carry meaning across multiple ayahs, so context is important. This feature would support deeper reflection, teaching, and dawah, make sharing more intentional and flexible, and reduce friction by avoiding manual editing after copying. It also builds on an existing UX pattern already used for audio playback.

Expected impact

  • Better experience for students, teachers, and power users

  • More meaningful sharing of Qur’anic content

  • Less copy-paste editing

  • Better alignment with how users actually read and reflect on the Qur’an

Optional enhancements

  • Save copy and share presets

  • Preview before sharing

  • Character or word count preview for social platforms

Summary

This feature extends existing functionality, adds strong practical value, and improves how users engage with and share the Qur’an by preserving context and giving users control over what they share.
